Hello CiteHR team,

I have a lot of doubts in my career as an HR. I think this platform will help me with it. Actually, I have completed three years of service as an HR, but honestly, I'm not satisfied in this tenure. I don't know how to process the payroll, use MS-Office, understand contract laws, and handle the statutory part. Currently, I'm focused on recruitment, where I handle all aspects of recruitment with the help of two assistants. Frankly, I don't know what stage I'm at. I am looking for an opportunity in the software sector as an HR, but I don't know how to go about it. Can you please suggest which books and courses I need to learn? Is it the right time to resign? I don't have any opportunities in hand yet.

Hi,

Please hold on! Without opportunities in hand, just continue with the current assignment. You have just completed three years; be happy about the amount of knowledge you have gained so far. With your experience in Recruitment, you can try for an IT Recruiter role, but you need to gain knowledge about various skill sets required for the IT sector. You may try for a mid-level IT sector position and then move on.

Regarding statutory and other areas, you can gain experience once you practically work in those areas.
