Hello all, I am applying for professional tax registration through a consultant. I want to know, is a property tax bill mandatory for professional tax registration if I have already submitted an electricity bill and property index copy?

It depends on the state where you are remitting the professional tax. In some states, it is a direct payment to the local self-government without any formal registration. In other states, the company has to register on the portal of the Local Self Government (LSG). For registration, some documents to prove that the company exists may be required. Since both these taxes are paid to the same LSG, it may be convenient for them to cross-check and grant registration. Anyway, you should have paid your property tax, and if not, pay it right now and produce it to get professional tax registration. What is the big issue in it?

Yes, this is our own building, and there are no property tax issues. I asked the question because even our MD is arguing about this matter. He said I create the worst situation for the company by applying for property tax registration.
