Hi, I have a new joiner who started on 12 Sept 2022. We provide 15 days of earned leave per year (i.e., 1.25 per month). How does the pro-rata calculation work for the new joiner? Thank you.

Please consider the total working months in 2022 are 4 - Sept, Oct, Nov, & Dec. Therefore, 1.25 x 4 = 5 days of leave earned in 2022. From 2023 onwards, the employee will earn 15 days of earned leave (EL). In this case, I suggest considering September 2022 as a full month.
