Hello, everyone. I hope everyone is doing great. Actually, we have our own manpower business where we provide security, housekeeping, and other manpower-related services. We had an issue with payroll. Can anyone suggest the right format for the payslip? We have a monthly audit with one of our clients. Every time he gives negative feedback on the payslip format, stating remarks like "wage slip produced but not in the correct format." I hope you understand my issue and can help me out in this situation.

I think the easiest solution would be to ask the auditor what the desired format is.

Please let me know the state about which you are inquiring. Few state legislations have a specific wage slip format, but many do not, and there is no right or wrong format. If there are specific components missing or incorrect nomenclature, as mentioned by Saswata ji, you can ask the auditor for the desired format.

Dear Pankaj, I am in the same business and understand your problem. The auditor will never let you know what exactly he wants and always gives negative comments. Please write in black and white to the organization under whom you are working and ask for the format so that in the future, the auditor will not be able to give negative comments. Also, provide your format with the letter.

Dear Member, If you are covered under the CLRA Act, then you are required to issue wage slips to the workers under the applicable Contract Labour (R&A) Rules. Please refer to the format specified in the relevant Rules and provide the wage slips to your workers accordingly. If you are not covered under this Act, then use the format of wage slips as per the applicable Minimum Wages Rules.
