Current company X (2021-2022)
Previous company Y (2018-2021)
I have withdrawn from the current company (X) PF. Now I want to withdraw the PF from the previous company (Y). However, my previous employer (Y) deposited 8.33% of his salary in the Pension account, which I was not aware of.
How to Withdraw EPF and EPS from Previous Company
Now, how can I withdraw EPF and EPS from the previous company (Y) as the PF online portal doesn’t allow me to withdraw PF from the previous company? I have already withdrawn from the current company (X) PF.
I left my current company 6 months ago and have not been working since then, so I was able to withdraw its PF.

Hi, Your PF contribution is 12% of your basic salary, which goes into your PF account. The employer contribution is also 12% of the basic salary: 8.33% will be allocated to the Pension fund, and 3.67% will be directed to the PF account. Therefore, a total of 15.67% will be contributed to PF, and 8.33% will go to the pension fund. It is important to ensure that you have the same UAN (Universal Account Number) in both companies. You should transfer your PF from your previous company to the PF account of the current company. You can initiate the transfer process and then proceed with withdrawal if needed.
If your total service period, including transfers, exceeds 10 years, you will not be able to withdraw the pension contribution. Instead, it will be paid as a monthly pension once you reach 58 years of age. Alternatively, you may opt for reduced pension benefits after reaching 50 years of age.

Hi sir, Yes, I have used the same UAN in both companies, and my total service period is around 4 years, from 2018 to 2022. I was not aware that my Y company's amount was not transferred to X (current company). I raised a PF withdrawal request, but I only received the PF accumulation from company X. Now, I want to withdraw the amount from my previous company, Y. How can I do this? On the portal, it seems that we can only withdraw from the current company, X.

One more thing, Pension = YES in previous company Y Pension = NO in current company X. My X company PF is claimed and settled. How to withdraw Y company PF and Pension?

Hi, PF transfer as a member you only need to transfer and only employer/pf office will approve the transfer.

Okay, I will raise a PF transfer request from the portal. I am not sure about the following two scenarios and would like to know if the PF department will approve my transfer:
1. Withdrawal from Current Company X
Since I have already withdrawn PF from the current company X.
2. Pension in Previous Company Y
Since there is a pension in the previous company Y but no pension in the current company X.
Will the PF department still approve my request to transfer PF from the previous company Y to the current company X?

Also, in both companies, my basic salary was > 15,000/- per month. So when I joined Company Y, it should not have deducted my EPS contribution as per the September 2014 EPFO Circular. Is this correct?
However, they have deducted my EPS. Will this create any issues in my PF transfer process from Company Y to Company X?

Hi, I'm not sure how you are claiming no pension contribution with your previous employer. You can verify your PF Passbook at https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login.
Thank you.

Eligibility for EPS Membership
If your first-time employment is after September 1, 2014, and your PF salary is more than 15,000, you cannot become a member of EPS. Your employer wrongly diverted the amount to the Pension fund. Approach the previous employer to give a letter to the concerned EPFO and rectify the mistake by issuing revised documents (they might ask for Form 3A). In the meantime, you may also register a complaint under the EPFIGMS portal regarding your grievance.
