Hi,
I have recently joined as an HR executive in a consulting firm and I am seeking a quick suggestion from the HR community. There have been cases where employees have left the organization without giving any prior notice, along with important salary information or without handing over essential data.
Could anyone recommend a few recovery agencies that are involved in such recovery processes here in Bangalore or advise on how to proceed with legal action?
A prompt response on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Varun,
Your problem is something that all companies try to comprehend. The solution seems to be dynamic as the problem.
So, what to do?
To start with, information security problem is something that even the big IT majors struggle with. What I can suggest is to store information for SEM using a web-based system called Salesforce. Of course, for a fee, with this, you can effectively monitor, modify, and safely store your client details and information. To download any of it would require three levels of clearance for people who have the right of access.
Try to curb all storage devices, remove all read/writing devices in the workstations, monitor all laptops, and ask your systems department to implement screen barge-in and call barge-in. For a very small fee, you can install cell phone jammers. Knowing these measures are in place would deter anyone trying to do what your troublemaker has done.
As for the recovery of lost information, appointing recovery agents is something unheard of. What can be done is to make sure that all clients whose information is stolen are intimated by mail to the highest level that the people who have left the organization were actually terminated due to malpractice, and they are no longer with your company. Any client dealing with them does so at their peril.
If you intend to sue them, you must have substantial proof that they have stolen company property. You can also hire a cyber law specialist to move for further legal action.
But the moral of the story is to be alert and not let your guard down.
