Sir/Madam, as part of joining the company, I submitted my original academic certificates. However, due to COVID-19, I was unable to continue after one year. The company is now refusing to return my certificates and is demanding payment. I kindly ask for assistance in retrieving my certificates as I am currently not employed and struggling to meet financial obligations. Thank you for your help.

Why have you submitted your original certificates? You should have submitted photocopies of all your certificates, duly attested by any Gazetted officer, which is as good as original, for the purpose of submission of documents to the company.
Clarification Needed on Payment Request
Kindly explain your statement, "after 1 year the company is not returning my certificates and they are asking to pay the amount." Why are they asking for payment? Is the payment requested in lieu of the notice period?
