I have been tasked to write a speech for the company director to read at the end-of-year meeting with the employees at the company HQ. I am only three weeks into this role as an HR/Administrative Assistant. Please help me with guidelines to draft this speech. Thank you in advance.

Dear Peter, Writing a draft of the end-of-the-year speech is the job of the Executive Assistant to the Director. He/she should prepare the draft, show it to some senior official like the VP, and then submit it to the Director.

We, the members of this forum, are outsiders. We do not know anything about your company, such as the nature of the business, the challenges your company faced during the year and how these were overcome, achievements of the year, and so on. Therefore, what can we propose?

Anyway, I recommend you approach a senior member who has been working for several years in the company. Ask him/her about the noteworthy events of the year. In your draft, you may include something on the COVID-19 pandemic. How did it impact your company's business and how was the situation handled?

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar

Rightly pointed out by the learned member, Mr. Dinesh Divekar, it is better to seek help or guidance from one of the senior members who can assist you within the organization.

To provide you with some insight:

Basically, achievements such as production, dispatch, and any rejections, as well as quality concerns that need addressing on the shop floor.

Market achievements including fulfilling export orders and any new product developments that have been accomplished.

Specific achievements on a daily or monthly basis, contributions of employees throughout the year under review.

Safety and safe working achievements, quality accomplishments, as well as any major events that were prevented due to timely employee intervention during the review year.

New Year organizational goals, targets, expectations, expansions, ventures, and proposed gifts, if any.

Additionally, any impending retirements of employees at the year-end, if applicable.
