Dear All,

As a contractor, we had applied for a labor license for 20 laborers. However, before receiving the labor license from the concerned authority, our contract with PE was terminated for some reason. Now, we wish to apply for a refund of the security deposit that we had submitted while applying for the license.

Could you please guide me on the process that needs to be followed and the forms/documents that must be submitted at the Labor Office?

Thank you.

Dear Vikram Bhati,

Please collect the Form VI-B (Completion of Job Certificate from PE) and prepare Form VI-A (Completion of Job Certificate from Contractor). Attach the copy of the Security Deposit Challan which was paid initially and subsequently while enhancing the labor strength, and attach the original Labor License. Handover the above documents along with a covering letter to the License Issuing Authority.

Furthermore, the Licensing Authority will forward the same to the Treasury for the release of funds. Once the funds are released from the Treasury, the Licensing Authority will issue a check after deducting about Rs. 100 or some nominal amount.
