Hello, my ex-employer has sent me a show-cause notice. There was a clause in my joining letter stating that I will not join any competitor for a period of one year after quitting my company. I left my company through proper resignation and acceptance from my ex-employer. I was asked to leave my previous organization as they were not happy with my performance. Instead of giving me a termination letter, which would have required them to pay me a month's salary in advance, they asked me to quit, and I was relieved immediately.

I got an opportunity to work for a competitor and began working there as I did not have any job in hand at the time. My ex-employer threatened to file a case against me, citing the clause in my joining letter, and unfortunately, I had to quit my newly joined company as well. In my newly joined company, I was looking after products that my ex-company did not manufacture, yet I was forced to leave.

Now my ex-employer has sent another letter to me, saying that he has come to know "through known sources" that I am still working with the competitor. Please advise on how to solve this, as this ex-employer of mine is torturing me mentally and driving me insane.

Whether you executed any bond to the employer? If not, It is better to reproduce the exact non-compete clause.

Since you are not working with a competitor company, you need not bother. Pl search for a new job and stop worrying. The old employer cannot damage you
