Your termination notice of 60 days includes all holidays and working days where you would be drawing salary for your notice period. But for any shortfall, you need to compensate for holidays also.

@Kumaracme, thank you for your suggestions. However, my company's HR is harassing me by insisting that I must serve a 60-working-day notice period, excluding general holidays and weekends.
During the joining process, it was clearly communicated that the notice period is 2 months, equivalent to 60 days. Now, they are suddenly claiming that weekends and general holidays are not included in the notice period calculation.
Please advise me on what steps to take next.

Please go through your appointment order. If it is mentioned that a two-month notice is required, then all holidays are included. If it is specified as 60 working days, you need to serve your notice period to the satisfaction of your employer. All private employments are governed by mutually agreed appointment letters and standing orders that are in force with your employer. This dispute can be challenged at the Labour court, which is a very lengthy and harrowing experience and does not solve your urgency.

The notice period of 60 days includes general holidays and weekends. You can refer to this example for clarification: from 1.03.2021 to 29.04.2021. It is unclear how your HR department is calculating this.

At the end, it is mutually agreed that an agreement, as long as you are in good standing, no one thinks of such minor details. However, once you are leaving, applicable rules that may cause trouble will start to apply. It is always recommended not to get upset and to very politely come out of the situation, getting relieved with a full and final settlement.
