I don't have a relieving letter from my two previous companies. I worked for 4 and 9 months in the first and second companies, respectively. I'm unable to reach out to one of the companies but have contacted the second one. They mentioned that they cannot provide the letter as I resigned without serving the required notice period of 3 months. What should I do now? Will this situation affect my chances of securing a job in a reputable company in the future?

Impact of Not Having a Relieving Order

Lack of a relieving order is not going to affect your employment chances in a decisive way. However, if you mention that you have worked in these companies, naturally the next question would be, "Where is the relieving order?" You have to come up with a valid reason for not having them. If you don't mention it, then you will have to explain what you were doing for nearly 13 months. It is also possible that when EPF membership is taken in the new company, your lies may be exposed. Therefore, you need to make a conscious decision considering these factors.
