Challan Payment on the Portal
The Challan on the portal in the "Recovery/Defaulter Challan" tab will be on an ad hoc basis and after notice from ESI. If one wants to pay prior to any notice and on an actual basis, what should they do? Even if they receive a notice but want to pay on an actual basis only, what should they do?

Procedure for Filing Belated Contributions
Department issues C-19 or D18 on an average basis in comparison to the last 6 months' contribution. After a 45-day lapse, there is no online procedure to file the belated contributions. However, if the establishment feels the need to do so, they can write to the Regional Director ESIC with actual facts and request to open the portal for a specific period. Upon scrutiny of the facts, if they find them to be correct, they may allow it and would intimate the employer to file within the period as may be fixed by them.
