Hi,
The important criteria is that the insured should take treatment only at ESI hospital only from very beginning else she can't claim maternity benefit through ESI. However due to lack of proper facility for delivery if the ESI Doctor refers the insured to Private Doctor then treatment can be availed at Private Hospital. ESI will pay full salary for the insured based on salary on which ESI monthly payment was contributed by the Employer. Also to claim the eligibility through ESI the insured should have worked for a minimum period of work days as stipulated by ESI Authorities in the past contribution period. Maternity leave days eligibility will be same as per MB Act (182 days).
