ESI Contribution Rate Change
I believe the ESI contribution rate has been changed effective from the 1st of July 2019. As an employer, I have not received any circular regarding this change. When attempting to remit the contribution for the month of July, I noticed that the automatic calculator on the ESI website shows less than half of the usual contribution rate of 1.75% that we have been deducting from our employees. Upon further calculation, I found that the contribution percentage displayed on the website is only 0.75%.
I conducted a search on Google for any news related to ESI contributions, which promptly directed me to the ESI main website. To my surprise, I discovered that the employees' contribution rate has been revised to 0.75%, and they have updated their payment platform accordingly.
I am now in need of any circular confirming this change. If anyone has received it, kindly share it here.
