Few employees are deployed in Pune and Bangalore, and their statutory (PF, ESI, and PT) is paid as per Tamil Nadu Statutory. Now the finance team says employees' statutory should be paid as per their location. Please clarify.

PF can be maintained through one code anywhere in India. ESI - Sub-code has to be obtained for each location against the main code. PT- Location-based as it is a State subject.

Provident Fund: It is a mandatory contribution fund for the future of an employee for retirement purposes or for their immediate dependents in case of death.

Employee State Insurance: ESI fund regulated by ESIC is applicable to all employees whose income is 15,000 INR or less per month. It offers medical and cash benefits.

Profession Tax: Profession Tax is a state-based tax. It is deducted from an employee's gross income before computing his/her tax. PT varies from one state to another.

Tax Deducted at Source: TDS is a type of tax that is deducted from an individual's income on a periodical or occasional basis. It is managed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, which comes under the Indian Revenue Service.
