My colleague met with an accident, and his leg was operated on by inserting rods; later, the rods were removed by the doctor (before joining our company). However, his leg remains straight and is not bending. He is unable to bend his leg now. After consulting with a doctor, it was suggested that his leg can be bent by undergoing another operation. I would like to know if he can claim the operation expenses through the ESI card or if he can be treated at an ESI hospital.

Note: ESI was registered for him starting from June 2019.

Thank you
