Do Swiggy/Zomato Delivery partners fall under Minimum Wages Act and other statutory employment laws? What is the mode of employment that is being followed?

I don't know the kind of employment contract these establishments have made with their delivery boys. But one thing is very clear, i.e., there should exist an employee-employer relationship between these delivery boys and the respective employer - Swiggy, Zomato, or Uber Eats - and as such, they are entitled to protection and social security as applicable under the labor laws.

Dear Colleague,

If the establishment is covered under the any state Shops and Establishment Act, the minimum wages as applicable to this employment will apply.

Hello, Dear All,

As I have spoken with many boys during the food delivery to my place, they have said that the compensation is Rs. 20/- per delivery, and they are not covered by any kind of statutory benefits.
