NEEM Trainees and EPF Coverage
NEEM Trainees are specifically and clearly not to be covered under PF, ESI, etc., as per the Notification of the Government of India dated 15th June 2017. However, PF authorities have now taken a stand that in the absence of a specific amendment for NEEM Trainees in the EPF Act, similar to Apprentices as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 or Trainees as per the Standing Orders of the Company, NEEM trainees will be covered under the EPF like other employees. Circulars from the PF department are attached for information/views/comments.
