Dear Madam, your job, as you say, involves transitioning from zero HR to introducing the entire gamut of HR policies and procedures in the photography industry, apart from the immediate challenge of employee turnover.

In my view, your critical areas will be recruitment, onboarding/induction system, employee records, labor law compliance, compensation structuring, attendance system, leave policy, and procedures, which are foundational HR interventions. As you establish and move further, concentrate on the performance management system and rewards and recognition.

Since a whole host of HR systems are required, you need to prioritize in consultation with your boss and move forward.
