Dear professional colleague,
Some of the prominent rights of workers that come to my mind are listed below:
1. Right to form and join a union
2. Right to minimum wages
3. Right to minimum bonus
4. Right to receive wages for the month on or before the 10th of the next month
5. Right to be heard before any punitive action by the employer
6. Right to express grievances relating to work and seek resolution
7. Right to maternity leave/benefits for women employees
8. Right to complain against sexual harassment in the workplace
9. Right to safety in the workplace
10. Right to privilege leave
11. Right to a weekly holiday and national holidays
12. Right to PF and ESI benefits
13. Rights of workers as contained in the Factories Act
14. Right to safe drinking water, safe working conditions, protective measures against fire and accidents
15. Right to appeal against management's actions
The above list is not exhaustive but includes what prominently came to my mind.
