Critical and Non-Critical Roles in Driver Categorization
We normally look at roles as critical or non-critical for all levels. Critical roles are those where the business may stop or slow down if the person occupying the role suddenly decides to leave. Non-critical roles are those where, if people leave, you can get a dozen candidates.
When you specifically look for categorization (that is not dividing, so please use correct English wherever required!) of such drivers, they are used invariably as a worker category only. They come under the Skilled Labor category, i.e., below Supervisory roles. In workmen, you can have two categories, i.e., Skilled and Unskilled. Drivers come under the Skilled Labor category. Within them also, you can have critical and non-critical roles. An ordinary LCV driver can be in the non-critical category, whereas a container driver or a driver who uses dump trucks comes under critical roles, as you get a very limited number of drivers, as it requires exceptional skills to drive HCV plus high-end high-caliber requirements.
