I have started working with Baroda Life Management Pvt. Ltd. company located in Baroda as an Assistant Manager for the Mundra location. I was called for training in Baroda for 8 days and was informed that the cost would be reimbursed. However, after 15 days, when I had a kidney stone problem, I asked for sick leave and payment for the training period. I am being denied that cost and given ridiculous answers. My question here is, can an employer deny an employee for not providing the training period cost?

Training Reimbursement and Medical Leave Concerns

Please confirm the following:

a) You were called for training at Baroda for 8 days, and you were told that the cost would be reimbursed to you. How did the company inform you? Have you been issued any letter or email?

b) Why are you linking the reimbursement of training costs with your kidney problem? Did you complete the training, or did you abandon it because of your medical problem?

c) Is it that you had completed the training, but after resuming your duties, you had a medical problem and had to stay away from work? Considering your absence immediately after joining, is there doubt in the mind of your employer about the continuation of your employment? Is this the reason for refraining from reimbursing the training cost?

Please clarify the above questions.
