I recently joined an organization with the hope that I would have some options, but now I am upset with how the situation is unfolding. I feel like I am heading towards depression, sometimes wishing to die instead of working in such unfavorable conditions. I am inclined to quit as there seems to be no social life left. Please help me with some tips.

Dear Eksha, you need not lose hope. There are ample opportunities available. Therefore, because of one bad experience, you don't have to dismiss yourself. However, as of now, please confirm the following:
a) Your qualification
b) The nature of your industry, your finished product or service, and your designation
c) How many persons work in your department, is the harassment only for you or for all
d) What exactly is the problem, why are you frustrated? Who is harassing you? Have you made a note of the instances? Do you find any pattern in the scolding?
While typing replies to the above questions, use your laptop or PC, as mistakes happen more while typing on mobile.
Thanks,

Dear Eksha, it is too early to call it quits. All of us have experienced some frustration after the initial period of euphoria over getting the first job is over. During college, we all had lots of dreams about the job, almost all in ideal conditions, and we considered ourselves self-declared WINNERS. However, real-life situations are entirely different. You are feeling frustrated after getting a job; imagine the plight of those who haven't gotten a job yet and their endless wait. So, you are in a much better position than many of them. You mentioned the problem being the lack of social life, but is it such an insurmountable one? You are new to the place; it takes some time for you to become accustomed to others and vice versa, so allow time to help and heal. Soon, you will appreciate the new surroundings.

Hi Eksha, I understand as I faced the same problem once. I was also frustrated and wanted to quit the job, but then I realized that I am not a loser and will face the situation. You should always be prepared for the worst. I got this inspiration from some of my ex-colleagues. Trust me, running is not always the option; we should learn to face the situation. Also, if you are still not able to cope with the organization, start looking for a change. Let me be very clear that if you want to be successful in your life, be ready for all circumstances. Leave this job only when you have another option.
I wish you all the best and hope this post was helpful.

Dear Eksha, life doesn't always go as planned, and unexpected events may not align with our desires. However, there are rare instances where coincidences occur that seem meant for certain individuals. My suggestion is for you to identify the things that are troubling you at work and causing unrest in your mind. Reflect on whether these issues are specifically targeted at you or if they affect others as well.
It is evident that you are greatly disturbed, to the point where you may feel like giving up. Remember to remain patient and consider discussing your concerns with your superiors to seek resolution. Be proactive in addressing your problems or seek assistance from someone who can offer a fresh perspective in your workplace. If you still find yourself struggling, it may be time to consider moving on. Before making that decision, explore other job opportunities.

Types of Mental Harassment
What type of mental harassment are you facing? Is a coworker harassing you, or is the work environment itself awkward? Have you expressed your feelings about the harassment to your coworkers or superiors?
Problems always arise, and one must confront them boldly—succumbing to worries is not the way forward. It is common to experience unhappiness at work. Many of us have felt unhappy at some point in our careers, and a significant number of individuals are consistently unhappy in their current roles.
Differentiating Unhappiness
It is important to differentiate between fleeting moments of unhappiness and persistent discontent. Therefore, analyze your concerns and actively strive to address them. Taking bold and intelligent actions to resolve the issues you are facing will lead to a positive outcome.

Dear Eksha,
Don't give up. Don't feel depressed. Be positive and hopeful. These times also will pass. Either let things take their own course or escalate the issue by addressing it upfront with the higher-ups.
If you are on the right side, ultimately you will win. But don't lose heart and take any hasty steps.
