Hi, kindly guide me on the issue below.
I was unable to make it to the office one day due to heavy rain and flooding. My manager asked me to come in on Saturday (even though Saturday and Sunday are my days off) to make up for that missed day. However, I couldn't come in on Saturday as well because of my classes, which I had already informed them about. When my salary was credited for that month, I realized it included pay for the day I was absent. I promptly emailed HR requesting a deduction for that day's pay since my manager hadn't approved it as a paid leave. I am currently serving my notice period as I had submitted my resignation after that incident.
Now, my managers are insisting that I come in on a Saturday, stating that I have no choice in the matter. If my salary is deducted for the day I missed due to a natural problem, how can they force me to make up for it?
Please advise me on how to handle this situation.

As of now, I recommend you follow what your manager says. This is important in view of your notice period. At the fag end of your tenure, I recommend you not to ruffle your manager. I say so because your next employer may conduct the background verification (BGV), and disturbed relations in the last few weeks should not impact your BGV.
Striking a balance between learning and earning is not easy. Pursuing a certification course while working is challenging. However, your job provides you with your livelihood; therefore, your job should take precedence over personal matters.

There won't be such leave unless it is declared by your management. Even when I attended my office in heavy rains, my boss would ask me to regularize the absence with leave if I don't come. As was suggested by Dinesh sir, you should not mess with your boss.

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate that. I understood what you are trying to make me understand, but I would like to add some more points here.
1. On that day, those who are staying nearby came to the office and left within an hour or two, yet they received attendance for the full day. However, I stay very far away, and even though I attempted to come to the office that day, I got stuck in heavy rain with no transport available (I usually take the local train). I boarded a train from my station and traveled just two stations before getting stuck because no trains were moving beyond that point. I was stranded there for three and a half hours and somehow managed to return home.
2. They are mentally harassing me because I used to point out their mistakes related to our process. Due to this, they misuse their authority and constantly try to prevent me from contributing positively to the process.
3. After submitting my resignation, I am complying with their expectations and simply coming to the office to work honestly.
4. A week ago, a meeting was held by my Assistant Manager and Manager, where they clearly stated that if anyone cannot make up for that missed day, their salary will be deducted, and they will not be allowed to apply for paid leave. I did not violate their rule; I followed what they instructed.
5. They are the main reason why I decided to resign because I cannot work in this environment.
6. Most importantly, HR has already approved my request for "Salary Deduction," but they are somehow pressuring HR not to proceed with it.
Kindly provide your suggestions on these points.
Thank you in advance
