Dear Seniors, we are a new company and need clarification on salary calculation for July 2017. We issued a joining letter for July 1, 2017, without noticing that July 1 and 2 were Saturday and Sunday (leave for our company). At the last minute, we realized this and asked the candidates to join on July 3, 2017 (Monday). At the end of July, we issued a salary for 29 days (Annual Income/12 x 29 (total days calculated from joining) / 31 (total number of days in a month)). Is this the correct way to calculate the salary? One of the employees is demanding a calculation for the whole month since the joining letter mentions July 1, 2017, and he is losing 2 days' salary. Please advise whether my calculation is correct.
