As per media reports, the Tamil Nadu Labour Commissioner says unions have no role in employee disputes. They state that Cognizant can sort out employee issues internally.

I D Act gives ample power to the union to raise a dispute on behalf of the employee. However, an individual dispute can also be raised by a workman in his personal capacity. What is your exact query?
