Impact of ESIC Decision
What would be the impact of this kind of decision? ESIC is only thinking about increasing its revenue. It has no proper infrastructure to provide adequate treatment to the existing IPs, yet they are expecting to add more IPs. I have seen in hospitals that they have placed two persons in a single bed. A person died due to a lack of emergency unit equipment. They harass people day by day to get cards and more. The officials treat my employees as their private servants.
If someone is drawing a gross of Rs 21,000, they are liable to pay Rs 1,365 per month as a contribution, annually Rs 16,380. They can even get better benefits in mediclaim. This decision can't be supported.
