Hi all, I was working with Company A from May 2013 to July 2015, then joined Company B in the same month and have been working there since. Now I would like to transfer my PF from Company A to Company B, provided both companies have proper digital signatures on the EPFO website. The issue is that my previous company closed six months ago.
Since both employers have proper digital signatures, there should be no problem in submitting the online transfer through the EPFO portal. However, if I choose attestation through my current employer, it appears that EPFO will contact my previous employer for verification. I'm not sure what to do in this situation. It would be great if anyone could guide me on this.

You don't have to worry about the transfer. Apply for the online transfer through your current employer. Of course, yes, the procedure is that they will ask for confirmation from the previous employer. However, it is the duty of the EPFO and the previous employer to process your online application. If you find it is delayed due to the non-availability of the previous employer after a few days (maybe one month), raise a grievance complaint in the EPFO Portal, and they will take care of it.
FYI, this is what I have done for one of my current employees, and it worked... Cheers!

Hi!
As per your request, you need to fill out Form 13 for PF transfer from your previous employment to your current one and obtain a signature from your current employer. The transfer will be processed through the EPF office (from the old PF account to the new PF account). I have attached Form 13 for your reference.
Thank you.

From India,
Thank you for your help. My question is, will there be any kind of verifications or documents that have to be provided by the previous employer post-attestation from the present employer? I believe there are some confirmations that have to be provided by the previous employer to complete the PF transfer. Please help me understand the complete process flow post-attestation from the present employer. Since my previous company has been closed, I'm not sure about the process. Will there be any intervention available with the previous employer?
It would be great if you could guide me on this.
Regards, Venkatesan

Step-By-Step Guide for Online Transfer of PF Funds
Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can log into the EPFO portal and facilitate the transfer of your PF funds from one employer to another.
If you have already been assigned a Universal Account Number (UAN), you can transfer funds easily. Ask your employer for the UAN if you haven’t received it.
Go to the EPFO website at http://members.epfoservices.in/home.php and create your UAN-based login ID. This will take you to a page where you have to enter your UAN, mobile number, and details of your current employer, such as state, establishment number, and account number.
Then you need to check if your account is eligible for a transfer on the EPFO site. You need to fill in the state where the employer was located and search by name or establishment number from a dropdown menu. After you have filled in the details, click on Check Eligibility.
The site will then let you know if your account is eligible or not. If it is, then you can register on the EPFO website. You have to submit a valid photo ID such as a PAN card, Aadhaar, or driving license. The website will also send a PIN to your mobile, which you have to verify. Submitting the PIN successfully will give you a confirmation message. Continue further.
This will take you to the EPFO Member Claims Portal. To log in, you have to provide the document ID and phone number. After signing in, you can see all options. Go to the top tabs and click on Request for transfer of account.
You can now access and fill in the PF transfer form. It has three broad parts:
First, you have to enter personal information in the first part. Other than your name and email, you have to enter the IFSC code of the bank and your salary account number.
In the second part, fill in details of your old PF account.
In part three, fill in details of your current PF account.
The claim can be attested by your previous or current employer. It takes some time for them to do it.
After the form is correctly filled in, you can click preview to see if the information is correct, or else modify it. After ensuring all the information is correct, enter the captcha and get the PIN. Also, click “I Agree.”
After entering the PIN, the claim transfer is initiated. You can also check the status of your funds transfer through the portal. In case of any hitches, you may enquire at the previous or current employer's end or write to EPFO directly.
This is how easy the funds transfer of PF has become through the online portal.

Clarification on EPS Transfer
1. I have transferred my PF from Old Org. 1 (PF Trust and RPFO, Bandra) to New Org. 2 (PF Trust and RPFO Ahmedabad). When I received the letter from Old Org. 1, I found out that only my PF amount got transferred, and the amount under EPS was retained/to be transferred from RPFO (Bandra, Mumbai).
2. Now, I have changed my job from Org. 2 to New Org. 3, which has a new RPFO (at Vashi, Navi Mumbai). I applied for an online PF transfer in mid-October as both Org. 2 and Org. 3 have digital signatures, and it is still under process after 1.5 months. Since Org. 2 has a PF trust, it might be possible that the EPS amount is kept at the regional PF office, Ahmedabad, due to trust involvement.
How can I transfer the EPS amount from Old Org. 1 (RPFO Bandra) to New Org. 3 (Vashi, Navi Mumbai)? Will it be the same condition as point 1, or will the EPS amount, along with the PF amount, be transferred from Org. 2 to Org. 3 RPFO? If it is not transferred to Org. 3 RPFO, then how would I process the same?
Thanks/Regards,
Ashok
