Dear Seniors, I have recently joined (May 25th) a manufacturing unit as an HR Executive. I'm new to this field. My management has instructed me to add myself to the PF account and generate a UAN number for myself. I have successfully added myself to the PF account using the e-return software. Now, my question is how to generate a UAN number from the employer's side. I'm finding it difficult to get a UAN number; kindly guide me in this regard. When I try to generate it, it shows as not registered in the employee's master.

Another major challenge is that I was instructed by my management to implement bonus and gratuity in the organization. I'm totally unaware of this subject, and unfortunately, there is no one to guide me on this issue in my organization. The total strength of the organization is 25. Kindly guide me on the above issues.

UAN will be allotted by EPFO. You can check your UAN number in the UAN list by logging in to the OTCP portal.
Regarding Bonus and Gratuity, first, I advise you to please read the Act and updates. After that, proceed to calculations and prepare a list of employees with their Date of Joining (DOJ) and service period until today. This will enable you to demonstrate to your management the liability up to today, and then every month you can set aside a provision for Gratuity.

Thank you for your reply, Sir. I am unable to find my UAN number in the database. I added myself to the PF account on 28th May only. Is there a time limit to reflect my name in the database? To date, I have not contributed to the EPF account. Could that be the reason for my name not reflecting in the database? It is showing as "UAN IS NOT AVAILABLE IN DATABASE." Kindly help me.

After logging in to https://employerclaims.epfoservices.in/index.php, go to UAN/Confirm Previous Employment, then search for your PF number and fill out all required fields. Provide the previous employment details and select, then approve the employment with DSC. It will be available in 48 hours.
