Hi Buddy,
When you take up new employment, the new employer will give you a Form-11 to open a new PF account for you under his/her establishment. At that time, please mention your UAN in the form. Then, the employer will transfer your old PF amount into the new account.

If you have a UAN, there is no transfer. The UAN remains valid regardless of the company you join. Your previous company will electronically file the return of employees who have left; otherwise, they will need to continue paying PF. The new company will add you to the PF list starting from your joining date. That's all there is for now.

So, could you please list the procedures step by step that one has to face and observe in order to successfully transfer his account from the old company to the new company, where the UAN remains constant if I have understood properly, please?

I think you didn't understand the answer. You don't need to transfer anything. The old company will inform you that you have left, and the new company will inform the PF department that you have joined. Your account remains the same as the account number is no longer attached to any particular company.

Dear PP2020,
Are you in HR? Or are you working for some other department? Your query has been answered, yet you are asking the same question again and again. There is no question of transfer under the new UAN system. That is the beauty of it. It always remains attached to the UAN.
Hope you understand the matter now.

Just to add to what others have mentioned, while the UAN number is a unique number assigned to individuals registered with PF, the process to initiate the transfer of the amount stays the same. If your previous employer was registered with the government PF fund commissioning authorities, you need to fill out Form 10C to apply for the transfer of funds from the previous to the current employer.
As everything is online these days, you will be able to fill out Form 10C online if your previous employer has completed its online registration and has uploaded their digital signature.
This online provision is not applicable if your previous employer had its own PF trust (and not with a government body).
Hope this clarifies further.
Regards!

Sapphire,
Do you mean that the employee/employer has to initiate a transfer even though the employee already has a UAN account? Or is it that the transfer in form 10C is required only if the previous employer was in the old system where UAN was not allotted?

Hi Sawasta,
Could you please provide an update on the following issue? For one of our employees, we were unable to create a UAN due to some DSC issues, and PF was deducted for two months. The employee has since left our organization and joined another company where a UAN has been created for him.
Now, what should we do regarding his previous employment confirmation? When we try to link it with his UAN from the new organization, it prompts us to enter the Date of Exit (DOE); however, he is currently employed there.
Kindly advise on the best course of action in this situation.

You need to activate your UAN to transfer your PF amount from the previous account to the current account. Below are the links and steps to initiate your transfer:
http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/ (Required UAN to login)
Home page -> Transfer Claim -> File Transfer -> OK -> http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/ (Registration required)
Home Page -> Claim -> Request for transfer to account
Fill the mandatory fields and initiate the transfer. Take a print and send it to the previous employer/current employer.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.

Hi! This is about the further continuation of the PF thing we were talking about. That would mean that there is a UAN number, but there is no second number or account related in this process. There is only one account or UAN number, right?

I do not think there is a UAN Card. It’s an account number. You do not get an identify card in PF.

At present, there is no provision in the UAN Portal to transfer. You can go to http://members.epfoservices.in/employee_reg_form.php to update the employee details in the member portal. Then, log in at http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/ and proceed to Claim -> Request for a transfer of the account and update the transfer details through the online Employee. The Transfer Claim is then forwarded to the Previous & Present Employer Portal. Both employers need to approve the Transfer claim with Digital Signatures. The transfer is usually completed within 10 days. You may also check the status in the Member portal.
