Hi,

Can anybody please help me with the below? I have a consultant (CXO level and Indian) working in my company for the past 2 months, and now he has resigned from his role. Since my company is a startup, I do not have a template to provide his relieving letter. Could anyone suggest a template for a relieving letter for a consultant (retainer)?

Thanks in advance for the support.

Regards,
Swapna K

Hi,

As he is a consultant, then no relieving letter is mandatory. Apart from that, he only worked for 2 months. If you still plan to provide one, you can mention:

To whomsoever it may concern,

This is to certify that (Name) was engaged with our organization from (Start Date) to (End Date) as (Designation).

Feel free to add any additional information if needed.

Dear Swapna,

At the outset, we take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year 2016 from Optimus Consultants.

Further, in response to your query, it is advisable to issue a relieving letter to the consultant(s) if he/they are issued with an appointment letter and are on the payroll of the company. All companies that hire the services of consultants always complete all the exit formalities.
