Hi, I am working with a company in India. My offer letter stated that I have to serve the company for a period of three years. Failing which, I have to pay ₹4,00,000 to the company; otherwise, they will present my cheque of ₹4,00,000. Many other terms, like being offered training, were mentioned in the offer letter, but none of the training was offered to me. The company has not collected any cheque from me during joining, so I thought there was no service agreement. I recently resigned from the company, and they have asked me to pay ₹4,00,000. What should I do, and how should I proceed?

How long did you serve?
They cannot force you to pay anything as you say no special training, etc., was conducted on their side of the job offer. They have not kept up their side of the job offer. The company is on weak footing because they have not given specialized training, etc. But they can make trouble for the release of documentation. Did you give a written resignation, and have they accepted it?

You stated that Co will present your cheque.later you are saying that you have not given any cheque. It is contradiction.
