Dear All,

Recently, the Maharashtra Government has allowed companies covered under the Shops & Establishments Act, Factory Act, etc., to maintain salary, muster, leave, and other such registers in electronic format. Does anyone have a copy of the English version of the said notification issued on 08.04.2015?

I have also been looking for the English version. No one seem to have it. I think I need to find a translator

I was not able to translate the whole GR, but the main points are as below:

Electronic Data Storage in Maharashtra

In view of the changed industrial scenario and the use of computers in storing data, the Government of Maharashtra is allowing electronic data storage subject to strict adherence to the rules and regulations of the following acts: Factories Act 1948, Maharashtra Factories Regulations 1963 clauses 96, 99, 105, and 106, Shop and Establishment Act 1948, MW Act 1948, Payment of Wages Act 1936, Bonus Act 1965, and Maternity Benefit Regulations 1961.

It is further stated that at the time of inspection, a hard copy of the electronic data should be made available. Subject to the above, computerized records are allowed.
