After having served for more than 10 years, I resigned and now have received a pension scheme certificate stating the following:
- Attaining age 58: on 8/5/2015
- Pensionable salary: $6500.
May I ask you to please let me know what I should do with this certificate? Will my pension come automatically upon attaining age 58, or do I need to take any action? Should I send this certificate somewhere? If so, where should I send it, and do I need to include any other documents? Please provide guidance on the next steps.
Best regards,

You are eligible or entitled to receive a monthly pension upon reaching the age of 58. When you reach the age of 58, you need to submit Form 10-D along with the scheme certificate to the PF office.
You are also eligible or entitled to receive a monthly pension at a reduced rate upon reaching the age of 50, but before turning 58, by submitting an application in Form 10-D as mentioned above.
If you join any establishment(s) to which the PF Act is applicable, you are required to submit the scheme certificate and continue your pensionable service until you work with such establishment(s) or until you reach the age of 58.

Thank you, Sir, now I am reaching the required age of 58 years on 9th May 2015. Should I apply for a pension after that, or can I write and send my pension certificate before then to do the needful? Please advise.

Clarification Needed on 10-C Form Submission
In the 10-C form, I found that there are no details to be filled in for pension papers, such as the details of my pension certificate (which I received long ago and you suggest should be submitted with the 10-C form). There are no details asked for my bank where I want my pension, etc. The form (10-C) seems as if it is for withdrawal purposes and not for pre-pension details, etc.
I am confused about whether I should just enclose the pension certificate with the 10-C form and if it will reach the right place because there are no details asked in the form for the same. After having once deposited it, will I have any problem if the certificate does not reach the right place? Please advise.

Sir, Sorry for my earlier ad wherein I had mentioned for 10-C to be forwarded with the Scheme certificate. I apologize; you had advised me to attach it with 10-D on completion of 58 years. As I am turning 58 in May, please advise if I should send my scheme certificate to the PF office (which was in Mumbai earlier or any office)?
Form 10-C and Employer Involvement
In form 10-C, there are columns to be filled by the last employer. Do I need to contact them for the same, or is there any other way I can get it filled? Moreover, I already had my PF settled long back in 2013. Do you think I still need to go to Mumbai to my last employer for getting the form 10-D completed? I even doubt if that company still exists in the old form or has changed now (as I was told by friends).
Please advise so that I can do the needful at the earliest as 58 years are approaching fast in 28 days.
