Dear Seniors,

Independence Day Celebration Planning

We are planning to have an Independence Day celebration on the evening of the 14th instead of the 15th. We want the employees to enjoy their holiday by being at home on the 15th. Additionally, the 15th is a Friday, allowing our employees to have three days off until Sunday in a stretch.

Concerns and Objections

We are receiving some resistance to this idea from some individuals as they object to having it on the 14th, which coincides with a neighboring country's Independence Day. Please advise on what we should do.

Saurabh.

Dear Sir, Please don’t celebrate Independence day celebrations on 14th just for the convenience of your Employees.

It's customary, except in schools and colleges, which used to assemble on the 15th morning to hoist the national flag. Many other offices celebrate or organize events and get-togethers on the eve of Independence Day on the 14th and disburse. We should not consider this as celebrating some other country's Independence Day. Every establishment is duty-bound to hoist the tricolor early morning on the 15th after sunrise and before sunset and sing the national anthem. The national flag can be hoisted every day or any day, and the restriction is it should not be hoisted before sunrise and after sunset and should be lowered during sunset. In other words, no flying during the night.

Thanks for your suggestion ! All employees attended with positive spirits and participated in all events. We announced it as a get together and people accepted our invitation.

Thanks, Seniors/Friends, for your valuable suggestions! We had a very nice event with full attendance. I have learned that it's all about how you communicate with the employees. We had a Pre-ID celebration but didn't hoist the Flag on the 14th (a few of us came and hoisted the Flag on the 15th morning). It is unfortunate that some members use such disrespectful words in this forum. It is important to respect all individuals in this forum to keep the objective of sharing and learning alive.

Saurabh.
