Greetings to all, can anyone help me with my query? I'm pursuing an MBA in the 4th semester in HR & Marketing from a college affiliated with JNTU University. Apart from that, I am working as an Office Assistant in the Purchase Department of a Cement Manufacturing Company. I have three years of experience in the Purchase Department. I want to pursue a career in HR. Can anyone suggest how I should plan and what courses will help me transition into an HR role? Will my MBA be useful for planning my career in HR? I am in a complete dilemma. Please help me out.

It is better for you to continue in the Purchase function because you have 3 years of experience. It will be easier for you to grow in your career by staying in the same function. If you try to enter HR, you will be considered a fresher.

As suggested by Mr. Narayan, it is better to continue with the Purchase department itself. If you really want to change your career, it is advisable to discuss this with the management and gradually initiate the transition to HR functions. This approach may help in advancing your career by shifting from Purchase to HR.
