Hi Everyone,

My name is AK Singh, and I'm a postgraduate, tech-savvy professional. I want to raise the concern of all members of the corporate fraternity on a serious issue of fraudulent employment offer emails under the goodwill of reputable companies like Tata Group, L&T, Deloitte, PSU companies, Kingfisher, etc., to name a few. You will be surprised to know that I have a collection of 100+ such forged emails under the names of many big companies.

I recently came across a TOI article stating that cyber crimes have increased by 123% compared to the previous year (2012-13) and have reached up to 24,000+ crores in India for 2013-2014. The matter is more serious than we think, and out of those 24,000 crores, 30% are cyber frauds involving employment and job offer/lottery emails. I already brought such incidents to the notice of a few companies last year, and the reply I got was that an FIR had already been registered and a notification was put on the website. However, even after a year has passed, I haven't come across any news pertaining to the arrest of any such fraudster.

It's disturbing, and I feel sorry for the victims of such cyber crimes. An unemployed youth or a corporate aspirant opens an email with so much hope, and the fraudsters hit their bull's eye.

After interacting with members of the HR fraternity of a few Indian companies, I came to know that even IT or ITES companies are unable to tackle the issue. So, I thought of sharing this issue with all of you and discussing possible solutions.

After taking input from all of you for a month, I'll be preparing a report and sending it to the government for consideration.

Also, I am attaching herewith one of the most recent fraudulent emails I received for a job in one of the companies of the TATA Group. See, analyze, discuss, and enlighten us with solutions to catch the fraudsters. I have already traced the email IP and ISP and have sent a mail to the company.

Sharing with you...
