Hello HR Folks, Could any one explain me what is contribution period and what is benefit periods of ESIC please.

Greetings for the day.
For the contribution period of 01st April-30th Sept., the benefit period should be from 01st Oct. to 31st Mar. Similarly, for the contribution period of 01st Oct.-31st Mar., the benefit period should be from 01st April to 30th Sept.

Please note that two contribution periods are provided in the scheme, i.e., 1st April - 30th September and 1st October - 31st March each year. Similarly, the benefit periods are from 1st July - 31st December and 1st January - 30th June each year.
You may be aware that an individual participating in the scheme receives benefits under general sickness (except for accident cases) based on the contributions made in the preceding contribution period.
