Dear all, we are a manufacturing company operating on a medium scale. We have decided to actively recruit individuals with disabilities. As a starting point, we are looking to hire a receptionist. Would it be appropriate to include the following statement in the newspaper advertisement: "Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply"?
Thank you.

Gloriya - Yes! But you might want to structure the words differently. Please read case studies on Cafe Coffee Day and other employers that recruit/recruited disabled/handicapped employees, and you might even save on the cost of an ad! Just one caveat here - you need to ensure your office is functional to allow for a disabled person to work from. And do remember, the transportation scenario in India is not conducive for disabilities/handicap sufferers, so you might want to reach out to some of the HR team of CCD and other employers on how they handle such events.
Best of luck! And please let us know how this works out.

Thanks for pointing out that transportation in India is a challenge for the differently-abled. We need to work on addressing these issues. In line with your suggestion, I'll reach out to CCD and inquire about their approach. Additionally, Lenskart also employs individuals with disabilities. I plan to contact these companies to explore further. Let's see how it goes Thanks!
