Hi, I have changed my company recently and now I want to transfer my PF and EPF to my current company. What is the procedure to transfer them?

Doubts Regarding PF and EPF Transfer

1. Are PF and EPF transferred separately?
2. Do I have to fill out separate forms for transferring PF and EPF? If yes, which are those forms? Can you provide these forms?
3. After the transfer of PF and EPF, will all the amounts be stored in a single account at my current employer, or will they remain in separate accounts?
4. At the time of PF withdrawal, do I have to fill out separate forms for PF and EPF?
5. Similarly, do I have to fill out forms for one single account with my current employer or for all the PF and EPF accounts I had in the past as well?

Please, if anyone can help me with this, thanks in advance for your help.

Here are your answers:

1. You have to apply Form-13(R) from your current employer. PF and EPF are the same; PF stands for Provident Fund, and EPF stands for Employee Provident Fund. If I guess correctly, you wanted to mention the pension, which is a part of EPF.

2. No need to apply different forms for PF and Pension; one Form 13R will suffice.

3. Once the transfer has been completed, you will have only one account number, which is from your present employer's.

4. Yes, for withdrawal, you have to fill Form 19 (PF withdrawal) and 10C (Pension withdrawal).

5. Once the transfer is done, there is no need to think about previous companies.

Hope the above is clear.

Thanks,

Answers to your queries are given point-wise:

1. Earlier, one had to apply in Form-13(R) from your current employer, but since last year, EPF transfer is done online electronically by your previous employer only.
2. EPF & EPS are transferred together.
3. After the transfer, a single account number shall be provided to you.
4. Form 19 is used for PF and 10C for Pension withdrawals respectively.
5. Once the transfer process is completed, there is no need to contact the previous company.

Thank you.

Transferring Provident Fund and Pension Fund

You can transfer your Provident Fund and Pension Fund using one Form-13 (R). There is no need for two separate forms. You can apply through your present employer online, and within a week, it will be transferred to your current PF/pension fund accounts.
