Hi, I joined my company on 11th May 2009 and worked there for the full working hours. Then the company asked us to come back on 18th May 2009. In that case, what will be my actual joining date? My offer letter clearly states that my joining date is 11th May. Kindly reply.

Your Date of Joining (DOJ) would ideally be the 11th of May, but they might put you on Loss of Pay for the days you have not come to the office, i.e., until the 17th of May. Please check with your HR.

A hard copy of the offer letter is not required if the soft copy has been sent and has the digital signature of the authorized person.

I have already checked. They are not accepting it. My manager is telling me I should have mentioned this at that time. After 4.10 years, there is no point in bringing up these things. Actually, I was a fresher at that time, and I didn't know about the importance of this. So, I didn't try to change the date.

There should be some evidence in your company that you reported on the 11th of May 2009, such as signing the muster roll or using electronic attendance punching. Please uncover that evidence and discuss it with your manager. Present this proof to try and persuade him/her that your date of reporting for duty should be considered as your Date of Joining (DOJ).
