Dear members,
The present wages coverage limit under the ESI Act, 1948 is up to and including Rs. 15,000 per month. However, the amount of overtime, if any, should not be added when calculating the wages to exclude any employee from the coverage under the said Act. Additionally, once an employee is covered at the beginning of the contribution period, they will remain coverable until the end of that contribution period, regardless of the amount of wages.
Thank you.

Hi Even Rs.15001 is not eligible for ESI. The ceiling is Rs.15000, so equal or below to Rs.15000 is the eligibility for ESI
Hi Mamtha,
The ceiling limit is Rs. 15,000 per month only. So, those equal to or below this amount may be eligible. If the salary components include Washing Allowance or any Reimbursement Allowance, it may be possible to qualify. Excluding those allowances, those earning below Rs. 15,100 may be eligible. Therefore, please provide your salary breakdown. This information could help us resolve your query.
All the best!

HI Yes 15000 of gross and 1500 of OT will be covered under ESI. OT amount has to be deducted for ESI irrespective of amount.
Dear Mamta,
As per the ESI Act, individuals earning more than 15,000 per month are not eligible for ESI deduction. Those receiving a gross salary of less than or equal to 15,000 (Fixed component) are eligible for ESI deduction. Therefore, the amount in your query is not eligible for ESI deduction.
Thanks,
