I am working in a manufacturing company. One of our long-standing and valued employees lost his son last month due to an illness. Because the child was very ill, they took him to a private hospital instead of an ESI Hospital. Unfortunately, he has passed away. However, our management has decided that there should be some ESI benefits extended to the employee, such as medicinal benefits, funeral expenses, and more. Therefore, I would like to know from all of you if he is eligible for any kind of benefit from ESI. Please let me know.

The insured person will receive the death benefit and other benefits only. Treatment and medical benefits will be provided for the family.

If you have incurred medical expenses for your son at a private hospital, please keep all the bills. Obtain the necessary forms from ESI, fill them out, and submit them to the local dispensary. You will then receive the reimbursement.

In the event of your son's passing, please accept our condolences, Mr. Sharma.

Your employee can get medical reimbursement from the ESIS authority. He only needs to fill out the form available at the ESIS office. Ask the employee to fill out the form, but ensure the doctor certifies that it was an emergency and necessary to treat him in a private hospital at that time.

Basically, it takes a long time, but you must keep following up with the authority. Hopefully, your employee will get reimbursement by mid-2015 if it is found in order by the authority.

I have received reimbursement for my son's (same scenario) treatment after two years. You have to regularly follow up with the authority.

Thanks.

You are required to collect all the medical bills for medicines, checkups, or body tests, all duly certified by the hospital's doctors. In this situation, you are required to collect the below-mentioned documents:

1. Medical Bills
2. Reports & Reports Bill
3. Emergency certificate from the Hospital (M.S.)
4. Certificate B from ESIC Dispensary
5. Covering letter (Including the full story of treatment to death, amount of expenses, and exact situation)
6. Copy of a canceled check
7. Copy of ESIC card
8. All documents should be attested by the hospital (M.S.).

I hope your employee will get full reimbursement of expenses if he/she files proper documentation along with proper follow-up with the dispensary & DMD office (Tilak Vihar).

For further assistance, you can post your query again in the same topic.
