Hi All, I resigned from my previous employer in May 2013 and applied for PF withdrawal in August 2013. However, I haven't received the amount or the status of my application yet. My previous employer is not responding to my calls or emails. Please share your thoughts on the same.

Thanks,
WSA

If you have a PF number, you can directly go to the PF office to clarify your doubts. Even if you ask your previous employer, he/she will say the same thing. Just walk into the PF office with your PF number and clarify your doubts.

Steps to Verify PF Withdrawal Application

Basically, you first need to ensure that your PF withdrawal application has been duly submitted to the PF Office. You can verify this with either the PF Office and/or your employer. If the application has been submitted, then normally it does not take such a long time to settle the dues.

If the application has not been submitted, then instead of opting for withdrawal, it is advisable to transfer the old funds to your new employer.

I suggest to all friends to write their mobile number on claim papers. This way, when the claim is received in the office, an SMS is sent from the PF office confirming that the PF claim has been received. Each claim is assigned a unique registration number, allowing you to track your claim application.

Thanks and regards

i suggest you please check whether your employer has submitted your form or not.if has done so, you can ask for the acknowledgement copy from them and then do the followup with the PF authority.

Hi all, thanks for your valuable inputs. I checked with my previous employer once again and received a reply that they have submitted it. I have written my mobile number on the claim papers but haven't received any message from the PF office. My previous employer is based out of Chennai, and I am unable to go there and check.

If you have not received any SMS from EPF, then try to find out from your old employer when they submitted your withdrawal form. Ask them to provide proof of submission along with a copy of the forms. To do this, send them a letter via registered or speed post only. You may also consider marking a copy of the letter to the EPF Office.

Alternatively, you can check your withdrawal status on http://epfindia.com (link updated to site home). If the status does not show as received and under process even after one week from the sending date, you can write to the EPF Office to inquire about the status of your request.

I hope this information proves helpful to you. Cheers.

EPF Withdrawal Process

In this case, simply fill out EPF Form-10C & 19 and sign it. Attach the bank account proof, duly self-attested. Don't forget to mention your mobile number at the top of Form-10C & 19, as the EPF Department will send the request status through SMS from time to time to the mentioned number.

Then, go to your banker and get your signatures attested on Form-10C & 19. Keep a xerox copy of it and send the original to the concerned EPF Office.

Your problem will be sorted out. Cheers.
