Hello, I am a new member of this CiteHR. I am here on behalf of my father. The problem is that my father was working for a company called XYZ in Hyderabad. Due to health reasons, as he is 65 years old, he left the company without any notice. At the time of joining, he did not receive any appointment letter, salary slips, Professional Tax details, or PF information. The employer used to provide salary through direct cheques. Now, I am concerned that he may face an absconding complaint. Will this cause any problems?

I understand, but written communication is very important today. We should not give the opposition a chance. However, I do not think that the employer can take any action because what your father did is secondary. First of all, the employer should not engage anyone without any prior documentation. As you mentioned, there is no proof of service, and payment had also been made directly. It means the employer was cheating all related departments, including the tax departments.
So, do not worry. One who stays in a glass house cannot throw a stone at your house.

Much has already been told to you by our seniors. However, there are two kinds of worlds - regulated and non-regulated. In case your father was working in an unregulated environment, there may be some personal jibes that could affect your family. Legally, you are safe. However, beyond that, do not leave anything that may harm you outside of the legal realm. Simply discuss and inform the employer or the owner about your problems, and that's all you need to do. Nothing will happen if your father has a clean slate.

Thank you for the suggestions provided. I will definitely inform my father about this.
Thank you for the information. I am much relieved now. He recently informed me that even for his salary, he used to receive hard cash, and no cheques were provided.
Thank you for the information provided.
Best Regards,
Amit
