I joined a company in January 2012. My PF account was maintained in Pune. Last March 2013, I was transferred to a different department, and the company started a new PF account in Chennai for the new department. I haven't submitted the PF transfer form yet, and it has been over four months.

Could I withdraw the amount from my previous PF account in Pune? Please provide guidance and the procedure.

Thank you,
Raja

Even you can transfer your PF from your old number to a new PF number by submitting a duly authorized Form 13 from your current employer with the necessary documents authorized by your old employer. You may consult your company's HR division for more information.

Dear Mr Raja, you can withdraw your PF but it is advisable to have the PF Transferred as it will add up to the number of years in the PF account.

It is always advisable to transfer previous PF accumulations into the current PF account by filling out FORM 13, as it will be helpful to add your number of years for pension purposes.

It is better to transfer, as already mentioned it will add up to your total service. 10 years of service or 58 years of age entitles you for pension.
