ISTD follows the standard ADDIE model of training. There’s nothing new that they have proposed in the TnD process or competency model.

Sachin,
Hi to reply directly to your query - Nope- ISTD doesn't have a Competency Model. And possibly they never will as their members do very little
to go back and contribute and build it up.Its not even recognized and most people don't even know what it stand for. Its lost its credibility as far as
I can tell. but that's my opinion and let it be at that.
To the rest of you who have tried answering Sachin's query - he is not referring to ADDIE model
(whoever said that should know what it is a model for or the lord save your organisation from your ignorance).
Here's the back story.
ASTD - is the American Society of T&D as we all famously know and they have progressed far ahead and aggressively to establish the credibility
of Learning & Development as a respected profession in the US alone.
They have done this by roping in the top dogs of corporate America. They have used real industry feedback and cases to refine the approaches
to training. They have qualified psychologists developing and testing organization and learning theories.
The very famous 4 levels of training measurement - Kirkpatrick model we use was officially adapted by ASTD and made famous all over the world
by making Kirkpatrick their esteemed member. He retired 2 years back.
So they invent and the rest of the world has to consume their concepts inspite of them being a major failure when it comes to localization of those programs
or models. Those are based on American business culture and that's an assumption they can work with as it benefits them.
For the rest of the world we have to adapt them to our cultures and corporates' which is not an easy thing.
ASTD y-o-y updates their competency model which is essentially the competencies required by an L&D professional working in the US.
They have their certifications and levels mapped to that. Very disciplined and very organized as far as ASTD works.
Sachin I assume your query is answered or the lord save me from my ignorance in poking my nose in this.
Cheers.

Dear Erstine,
Thank you for the insight.
I am aware of what is ADDIE model and I also know what a competency model is. I mentioned ADDIE because Sachin asked this:
If anyone has any information regarding ISTD T&D process please share it..
Do you think you can be a little courteous while writing on public forums? Do you think you can read the entire thread and then respond without jumping to conclusions?

Do you stand to gain anything from it personally by accusing fellow posters?
Bringing the focus back on the topic:
My bad :-) Thought you covered that part for him, so that was understood.
So what is the old competency model you are referring to if they ever had one?
Please enlighten us on behalf of ISTD.
Cheers
