Respected All, I have a query regarding registers to be maintained under the EPF Act.

Purpose and Format of the Eligibility Register

1. What is the purpose and format of the Eligibility Register as per the EPF Act?

2. Is it important to maintain this register?

3. Where in the Act has it been detailed about this register?

EPF Eligibility Register and Its Importance

The EPF eligibility register is maintained to allot an EPF code to every employee and keep a record of all employees employed in an organization, whether exempted or covered under EPF. The name of every employee must be mentioned on the EPF eligibility register. During EPF inspections, the PF Enforcement Officer will demand the said register, and it must be duly filled. The format is attached.

Warm regards,
Umesh Chaudhary
