Dear CiteHR,
I am a Pharmacy graduate with 1 year of experience in sales with an MN Pharma Company and nearly 2 years of experience as a Recruitment Executive with a consultant in Mumbai. I am pursuing a Diploma in HR from Wellingkars and planning for a part-time MBA in HR next year. I want to make a career in training and development in the Pharma industry, which I feel is my core competency.
Please suggest how to go about this. Anticipating motivating suggestions from all of you.
Regards,
Vikrant

Dear Vikrant,
I am also a Pharma graduate from DU and have worked in sales and marketing teams of MNC pharma companies. You are venturing into an emerging field, and I am sure that with the kind of new approach to disease management, the training needs of pharma skills will also need transformation. I suggest you go ahead, and new ways will open for you. Do not forget to scan the international view.

Since you have a pharma background and you will soon obtain a diploma in HR, followed by a degree, you will have sufficient basic HR-related knowledge.
Courses Related to the Pharma Industry
Related to the pharma industry, you could pursue some distance learning courses which could be helpful. I would suggest the following courses conducted by the Bioinformatic Institute of India, Noida:
- Regulatory Affairs in Pharma Industry
- Pharma GMP (This is somewhat technical in nature)
Best of luck in your search for knowledge.
